Fundraisers - this section out of date - check back August 2017

The band runs several fundraisers throughout the year to help support the band. Funds go into three funds, the General fund, Student's individual accounts, or towards the Student Board. Check the website home page and facebook for dates on the beginning and end of each fundraiser and who you can contact to help out. Most of the cost of running the band comes from these fundraisers.

Welcome to Fundraising

Parents and Students,
We would like to pass on some information about fundraising especially since we have started our fundraising season.
During the year we offer various fundraisers so you can offset the cost of band trips. This year the band will be traveling to Colorado in early October and Las Cruces, NM in November and possibly to Arizona for the spring trip. The Las Cruces trip has already been paid for.
Difference in fundraising accounts:
* Student Account fundraisers- Each student has an account and the account is maintained by the treasurer. When your student participates in a student fundraiser this is where the money will be "deposited". This is also where monies are deposited if you send a check for your student account for example, to pay for the Las Cruces trip or start adding money for the spring trip. THE BOTTOM OF THE WEBSITE HAS A BUTTON CALLED "STUDENT ACCOUNTS", YOU CAN CHECK YOUR STUDENTS' BALANCE ANYTIME. The account number is the last 4 digits of your students' ID number
* Student Board fundraisers- The student board has various fundraisers during the year. The monies earned during this type of fundraising goes directly to the student board and NOT your kids account. The main purpose of the student board fundraisers is to raise money so they can offset the cost of the end of year banquet.
* General Group fundraisers- General fundraisers are fundraisers that assist the entire band. The biggest general fundraisers are the craft shows. Although, the students do not sell anything directly for the craft shows the students are required to participate.
*Other fundraisers: (General Group) Company matching- INTEL and SANDIA both participate in company matching programs. Basically, these companies will donate funds because you volunteer with a non-profit organization such as band. Please check with your employer to see if they do company matching.
*Amazon Smiles: (General Group) We all love to shop. When you shop at Amazon please choice LA CUEVA BAND BOOSTERS as your charity organization.
*Combined Federal Campaign (General Group) *You can also donate to the La Cueva Boosters if you participate in the CFC, we identification number is #79004.
Fundraising information can also be found in the band room on the metal cabinet.

Student individual account mainly help pay for the costs of going on out of town trips like the Tournament of Bands competition in Las Cruces and the annual spring trip.

General funds contribute to things like the arranger for music, awards presented at the year-end banquet, drill writers, equipment repair, entry fees for competitions, flags and material for the colorguard, fees for music, percussion equipment supplies, props, sheet music, band camp staff fees, transportation to and from games and competitions, equipment truck rental fees and fuel, uniform accessories, uniform cleaning, use of field facilities, newsletter costs, drinks for games and competitions, and website costs.

Craft Fair: The Band hosts an annual craft fair each year on the first Saturday of December and the last Saturday of April in the halls and cafeteria of La Cueva High School. Monies are raised through fees charged to crafters, a silent auction of donated craft items, food vendor fees, and a bake goods/beverage sale. All band students are expected to help out with the fair and all proceeds go into the General fund. All parents are encouraged to help out during set-up the preceeding friday night, helping crafters set up and take down their displays on the day of the fair, and helping run the silent auction and bake sale. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year and contributes the most to the General fund.
